Filler or Botox?

Let us first say that it is not a problem at all if you come to our clinic and you do not know exactly which injectable suits your needs. We are happy to help you with that. If you want to know more about the different injectables, read on. Botox and fillers are both injectables, but cannot be compared. Fillers fill up tissue and Botox ensures that the wrinkles disappear by temporarily targeting the muscles that cause the wrinkles.

Botox is effective for wrinkles caused by muscle activity. For example, frown lines from frequent frowning, forehead lines from repeatedly raising the eyebrows, or crow’s feet from frequent smiling. In these cases, we refer to them as expression wrinkles, which are directly linked to the movement of facial muscles.

Wrinkles caused by skin laxity are treated with fillers. Besides addressing skin sagging, fillers are also widely used to add volume, simply because we find it aesthetically pleasing. For example, enhancing beautiful, feminine cheekbones or creating fuller lips.

If you don't know which treatment suits you best, you can always get free, no-obligation advice from our cosmetic nurses. They can indicate exactly which product suits your needs. We lovingly advise you on all possibilities.

What exactly is botox?

Botulinum toxin is commonly known as “Botox.” It is a natural protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Historically, it was mainly used for medical purposes, such as treating nerve and muscle spasms. In 2002, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Botox for cosmetic use, including the treatment of wrinkles.

Botox is injected into a muscle and temporarily blocks the connection between the muscle and the nerve. This prevents them from communicating, allowing the muscle to relax. It is therefore ideal for treating wrinkles caused by frequent muscle contractions in the face, but it can also be used to treat migraine, excessive sweating, and teeth grinding.

Nurses Inc. chooses Bocouture.

“Botox” is the brand name for a product that contains botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin is available under various brand names from different manufacturers. At Nurses Inc., we use Botox from the company Merz, called Bocouture. Bocouture has been used for over 30 years to treat facial wrinkles.

Botox or Bocouture: The Differences

Botox and Bocouture are among the most widely used botulinum toxins worldwide. While they are fundamentally similar, there are subtle differences that led us to specifically choose Bocouture. One key difference is that Bocouture is known as the purest form of botulinum toxin, as it contains fewer complex proteins that could trigger allergic reactions. Additionally, some users claim that Bocouture has a faster onset and can provide a more natural-looking result compared to Botox.

After a treatment, you’ll typically notice the effects within 2–3 days. The results will reach their peak after 2–3 weeks. By 3 months, the effects will fade as your body breaks down the substance. If you’re happy with the results and wish to maintain them, we recommend repeating the treatment every 3 months.
